Brad Kuhl and Monique Leyton
Brad Kuhl graduated with an MFA in photography from ASU in 2008. Currently he collaborates with Monique Leyton, known as Kuhl & Leyton. The duo reside in Beijing, China where they create and teach art at the Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA). Kuhl & Leyton explore spectacles of power, crime, tragedy, celebrity and hilarity drawn from public consciousness. Their “Elite Deviance” series (2010) visually narrates recent white-collar crimes. It has been exhibited in California and Florida and was featured in The Huffington Post and Juxtapoz. Their most recent series is packaging-tape portraits of the most-followed celebrities on Twitter.
