Rachel Stiff is a mixed media painter with an addiction to physical labor and an obsession with process. Growing up in a small ranching community in Central Montana, Rachel is strongly influenced by open spaces. Her large-scale paintings reflect the beauty found in growth and decay. Abstract painters such as Gerhard Richter and Joan Mitchell are great sources of inspiration to her. Rachel is a recent MFA graduate from The University of Arizona and is currently an adjunct art instructor in Tucson. Being awarded an Artist Residency, Rachel will spend the upcoming summer working in Los Angeles with RAID Projects.
