Constance McBride was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2002. She knew art was her true calling and six years ago began transitioning out of the corporate world to pursue it. She uses landscape elements, dreams and life experiences to convey themes of creation, preservation and destruction in her work. Her interest in the figure is an ongoing exploration of how society's relationship with nature, and the natural cycle of life, has been extremely altered. She received a BA from Arcadia University and continues her education today via workshops here and around the country. McBride is a 2011 grant recipient of the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
