Andrea Pinheiro works in photography, print, paint, film and installation. Weaving together elements of documentary, archival tendencies, and collecting practices with the poetics of embodied experience, Pinheiro’s work is a reflection of experience of place intertwined with consideration of the long and complex histories of objects and materials. She has exhibited across Canada and internationally and has completed residencies in Canada and abroad. She is an Associate Professor at Algoma University and is the director of 180 Projects, an exhibition space in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
